NOW AVAILABLE IN 400ml JARS
A limited number of Abbots Mid-fire Glazes are now available in “ready to use” brushable form.
Brush On Glazes offer numerous benefits over simply poured or dipped glazes:
(1) Easy and inexpensive way to trial new colours
(2) Ready to use - No messy weighing, mixing and no waste
(3) Ideally suited to layering as the binders prevent successive layers from lifting off the lower layers
(4) Easily transported between home and studio - Safer to transport as the glazes adhere strongly to the bisque
(5) Thickly layered glazes can be safely confined to areas (eg insides of bowls) where they will not run off the pot
(6) Large pieces can be glazes with small quantities of glaze (You don’t need a large bucket of glaze to dip into)
(7) Dramatic glaze effects can be achieved through layering - Wax resist application has proved an excellent method
Any Powdered Glaze can be set up as a “Brush On” glaze by dispensing it in the Abbots Universal Medium
